Dining room complete!

I finally found the last piece to complete my dining room (at least until next week when I change my mind). My mom gave me this old banister she had in her house and I used it as a way to hang my new DIY wreath! It worked perfectly and brought a little rustic feel to the dining room!

Refurbished Flower Pot

Before I show you the picture of my newly painted pot…I have a few disclaimers about my “garden”
- I live in rental so cannot actually plant in a garden, I have to use pots or some sort of planter.
- Because it is a rental and we plan on buying a house in the next few years, I have no intentions of spending money on a mediocre garden at my rental.
- I despise the area of rocks that I am forced to use as a garden.
- I have never gardened and randomly picked plants that claimed “easy to grow” and stuck them in my pots. I am well aware they do not look great in their respective pots but this is a learning experience
- It has been over 100 degrees with high winds here…my poor flowers are pathetic.
WITH THAT BEING SAID…My mother was kind enough to give me some of her old pots which were actually quite nice. She also gave me a bird feeder and my grandmother will be giving me a small bench so I’m excited to add that little number to my garden! After setting up the garden, I was not pleased the the vibe I was getting from the tan-ish colored pots…they were blending in with the rocks. I decided to spray paint them an bright green and then add a little spark with some acrylic paint. Check out the before/after photos!

Alaska!

Well, I haven’t posted for a while because we moved from Oklahoma then three days later went on our Alaskan Cruise. I am going to highly recommend this is a vacation for any and all ages. We booked through Royal Caribbean because our family has had good luck with that cruise line. It was FANTASTIC! Go online to Royal Caribbean to check out all the cruises have to offer!
If you are not interested in a cruise then I will highly recommend one of the places we stopped on the cruise: Victoria, British Columbia. It was by far our favorite stop and one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been. It offers water activities (boat rides, whale watching), shopping, historic sites. The last three pictures below are from Victoria.

Who doesn’t love a baby kangaroo?

We thought it was just another Friday at work. Although most people love Fridays, I was finishing some much needed paperwork to postpone my trip to the computer “repairman.” Needless to say, I was not in the best of moods….until, like magic, a man From Broken Arrow Safari’s Sanctuary appeared in our lobby with a baby kangaroo!
I’m an animal lover, so I knew that I would have no problem sprinting down a flight of stairs to see a baby kangaroo; but I failed to realize the affect it had on almost everyone else in the workplace! Before I could say “I need a kangaroo…” 15 other employees were surrounding me to get a piece of this adorable animal.
Moral of the story: Buy a kangaroo

Oxiclean…my miracle worker!

My husband and I decided to get rid of cable…one day we had watched 4 straight hours of Real Housewives…NOT OKAY! Needless to say, if I can’t sleep at night the only thing I have to watch is infomercials, and I’m a sucker! After hundreds of Oxiclean commercials, I finally decided to buy a tub of the Oxiclean powder. I LOVE IT! We had tried countless products for our puppy accidents, and Oxiclean worked. I wanted to clean all my old workout shoes…Oxiclean made them look almost new! I also use it to make my whites EXTRA white in the laundry! My disgusting apartment shower…the CLEANEST it has ever looked! Now, I am not getting paid to advertise this product…but maybe they SHOULD pay me because I love it!

Pretty Dog Collar!

My baby a.k.a. black labradoodle Paisley Mae turned one year old on January 1st. I waited a whole year to buy her a “cool” collar because I didn’t want to waste money if she was going to grow out of it! I searched and searched for a collar that would be long lasting AND adorable. I finally found the website www.shopmimigreen.com that had laminate and oilcloth colors that have the following features:
- Made with contoured buckles that fit the curves of your dog’s neck
- Large gauge D-Rings
- Laminated Cotton is sturdy, waterproof, and stain-resistant
- Simply wash with a damp sponge and cool water (or for heavy soiling, machine wash in cold water on the gentle cycle)
I ended up spending the extra money to have her name on the collar but it looks like a sticker so I wouldn’t recommend that part!
